Contemporary Music & Sound Program ConcertSunday, October 26th
District Stage, 5-7pm
CMAS is the groundbreaking 4-year Arcadia High School music program, created and facilitated by Grammy™ nominee Richard Maxwell, that allows students the unprecedented opportunity work with music industry professional grade equipment while learning how to take their music from the stage to the studio and beyond. Largely funded through Federal grants, CMAS can best be thought of as an independent record label and production company. In CMAS there are no musical restrictions of any kind, nor is any prior experience or training required. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Vocals…ANY instrument. The CMAS program is the definitive model for contemporary music education and is endorsed by a host of significant Music Industry and Education experts. Students are currently eligible for as much as 27 hours of college credit as part of their work in the program. Every year CMAS produces numerous albums of original student work, as well as presenting more than 50 shows ranging from packed stadium concerts and full scale original musical productions, to relaxed coffee house performances.
